Payday 2 is a cooperative first-person shooter game in which players control a gang of thieves who carry out elaborate robberies in various locations. The game's mechanics emphasize and reward stealthy action during robbery.

The plot of Payday 2 features the gang from the previous game arriving in Washington, D.C., ready to make another series of high-profile robberies. The Legacy Collection includes a lot of DLC content of the game, giving the player access, among other things, to new robbery equipment and runaway vehicles.

The basic gameplay mechanics of Payday 2 focus on performing a series of robberies. The player can perform them alone, with the rest of the AI-controlled crew, or with other players. PD 2 has four levels of difficulty, each of which is unsuspected by causing a successful robbery.

The game rewards each successful robbery with experience points, with which the player can expand various skill trees. The money obtained during the robbery can be spent to buy new equipment: weapons, disguises, etc.
