Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York is a single-player adventure game, in the style of a powerful narrative-oriented visual novel, based on the role-playing game Vampire: The Masquerade and takes place in the fictional universe called World of Darkness.

Stepping into the World of Darkness you will take on the role of one of the three newly created vampires, each of them belonging to a different clan, which gives you the opportunity to play the game as you wish. Each of the three vampires possesses different abilities and ways of interacting with this complex, political world.

Being a single-player adventure game, Masquerade involves players in various activities by participating in dialogues and choices that have an impact on the story.

The player's task is not to be exposed as a vampire and not to give in to his blood thirst, because when the player is discovered, the Masquerade ends. In addition to the main mission, the player can choose to complete many side missions and loyalty.

Each vampire possesses certain abilities, such as Presence, which is the force that influences people's emotions, however, different clans offer some special abilities.
