Forest elves - the new breed introduced - have unique units and abilities. The core of their army is made up of fragile but strong infantry, supported by cavalry charges consisting of mounted warriors. Their archers possess great precision and range, keeping enemy forces at bay.

Amber, the currency of the Forest Elves, can be spent to summon forest monsters to fight. It also offers additional in-game bonuses. The new settlements include the Oak of the Ages, which offers buffs to an entire faction. If destroyed in battle, the player loses immediately.

A sub-faction of the wooden Elves, these units are masters of forest spirits and use various monsters in battle. Like their core faction, they rely on Amber for invocation and other purposes. The settlements and importance of the Oak for centuries remain the same as in the case of the Wood Elves.
